Year 11 Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Hackney
Pay Rate: £95 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education’s London Branch is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to support Year 11 students with complex needs at a welcoming and inclusive school in Hackney. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and have experience working with special educational needs, this could be the ideal role for you!

About the Role:

As a Year 11 Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, ensuring they can access learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to create a positive and nurturing environment that promotes independence and confidence.

Responsibilities of Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Support Year 11 students with complex needs in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and differentiated learning activities.
  • Promote social, emotional, and academic development through patience and encouragement.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to maintain an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record student progress, reporting to the SEN Coordinator as required.

Requirements for Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Previous experience working with students with complex needs or SEN in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and adaptable in challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training can be provided).
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
