Year 8 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Hackney
Pay Rate: £95 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education’s London Branch is currently seeking a dedicated Year 8 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive team at a vibrant school in Hackney. About the Role:

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide tailored support to a Year 8 student with additional learning needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the student can access the curriculum and thrive both academically and socially. This is a rewarding role where you can make a real impact on a young person’s educational journey.

Responsibilities of 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 8 student with SEN, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
  • Support the student in developing confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SEN team to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.

Requirements for 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and demonstrate patience and empathy.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential).
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
