Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistants
Location: Wakefield
Pay rate: Upto £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are currently appointing 1:1 Teaching Assistants to join schools in the Wakefield area, providing personalised support to pupils with additional learning needs.
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with individual students to help them access the curriculum, develop skills, and gain confidence in their learning. Your role will be essential in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis to complete classwork and tasks.
- Assist with personalised learning plans tailored to individual needs.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social skills development.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Maintain a positive and organised classroom atmosphere.
Requirements of 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs of each student.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Professionalism and a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
