SEN Support Worker
Location: Ringwood
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs to reach their full potential? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Support Worker to join schools in Ringwood.
As an SEN Support Worker, you will work as a one-to-one and group support to pupils with additional learning needs and play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of SEN needs.
- Assist teachers in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual learning requirements.
- Encourage pupils to develop independence, confidence, and social interaction skills.
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff and parents.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, SENCOs and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or a relevant degree (e.g., Education, Psychology, Special Needs).
- A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach to working with children.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
