Teaching Assistant
Location: Christchurch
Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time
Are you a supportive, patient, and motivated individual looking to make a real difference in the classroom? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a warm and welcoming school community in Christchurch.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting students’ learning, providing one-to-one and small group support, and helping to maintain a positive classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support students with their learning across key subjects.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support based on student needs.
- Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Assist with record-keeping, monitoring progress, and providing feedback to teachers.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or in a school environment is desirable.
- CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or a relevant degree such as Psychology or Education.
- Strong communication, patience, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
- A caring, proactive approach to supporting students of varying abilities.
