Job Title: RE (Religious Education) Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S35)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are inviting applications for an RE (Religious Education) Teacher to work within schools across Sheffield (S35), delivering meaningful lessons that encourage reflection and understanding.

As an RE Teacher, you’ll foster respect for diverse perspectives while deepening students’ understanding of religious traditions, ethical issues, and contemporary debates. Your teaching will build an inclusive environment where learners confidently share ideas and engage in open dialogue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a well-planned RE curriculum that promotes knowledge and critical thinking.
  • Encourage students to explore moral, cultural, and philosophical questions.
  • Provide constructive feedback to help pupils progress in their written and verbal work.
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enrich the wider curriculum.
  • Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Strong RE subject knowledge and confidence delivering as an RE Teacher.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to supporting learners of all abilities.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A responsible and professional approach to safeguarding.
