GSL Education is looking for a caring, committed Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Maldon. This full-time, long-term role begins in January and involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs within a Key Stage 1 classroom.

The Role
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will:

Provide dedicated support for a KS1 pupil with SEN, helping them access learning throughout the school day.

Implement strategies outlined by the SENCO and class teacher to support the child’s academic, social, and emotional development.

Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.

Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil to promote engagement and wellbeing.

Encourage independence while offering reassurance and structure.

Work closely with staff, parents, and external professionals where needed.

Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For

Experience working with children with SEN (ASD, communication needs, or additional learning needs desirable).

A patient, warm, and adaptable approach.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Reliability, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners.

A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
