Job Title: Design Technology Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S35)
Salary: Up to £1100 per week (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate / January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time
Are you a creative and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher ready to inspire students through hands-on learning and innovative projects?
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Sheffield (S35).
As a Design Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ skills in design, engineering, and practical problem-solving. You will encourage creativity, critical thinking, and technical understanding, helping pupils achieve their full potential in this exciting subject.
Design Technology Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, covering practical and theoretical components.
- Encourage creativity, innovation, and independent thinking in students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and guidance.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and develop cross-curricular projects.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety in practical workshops and classrooms.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology.
- Previous experience teaching DT in secondary schools is desirable.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
- A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL.
