Job Title: History Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay Rate: Up to £200 per day (based on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time
Are you a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher looking to inspire pupils and bring the past to life in the S70 & S71 areas of Barnsley?
GSL Education are seeking dedicated History Teachers to work in schools across Barnsley (S70, S71). This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver engaging lessons, develop pupils’ historical understanding, and support their academic progress.
As a History Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Encourage critical thinking, debate, and source analysis.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
- Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times.
Requirements for the role:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Experience teaching History at school level.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for inspiring and motivating young learners.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
