Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Salary: Up to £200 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time
Are you an inspiring and knowledgeable RE Teacher looking for a rewarding new role starting in January 2026? GSL Education are seeking a committed RE Teacher to join a supportive school in Barnsley (S70, S71).
As an Religious Education Teacher, you will encourage students to explore beliefs, values, ethics, and world religions, helping them develop respect, critical thinking, and cultural awareness. This role is ideal for experienced teachers, ECTs, or overseas-trained teachers who are passionate about Religious Education and dedicated to delivering high-quality lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and well-structured RE lessons across Key Stages.
- Support pupils in developing understanding, empathy, and reflective thinking.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, enrichment activities, and departmental development.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and promote positive learning attitudes.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an overseas teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge in Religious Education.
- Experience teaching RE within a UK or equivalent curriculum.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- A reflective, passionate, and student-centred approach.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
