Salary: Up to £200 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time
Are you a passionate and knowledgeable Geography Teacher looking for an exciting new role from January 2026? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Geography Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Barnsley (S70, S71).
As a Geography Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages, inspiring pupils to explore the world around them, develop critical thinking skills, and foster a curiosity for environmental and global issues.
This role is ideal for experienced teachers, ECTs, or overseas-trained teachers who have a strong command of the subject and a commitment to excellent classroom practice.
Key Responsibilities of Geography Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons across key stages.
- Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assess and track pupil progress to support academic achievement.
- Promote a passion for Geography through creative and engaging teaching.
- Participate in departmental planning, enrichment activities, and school initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and classroom management.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or overseas equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Geography.
- Experience teaching Geography within a UK or similar curriculum.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
- A positive, proactive, and professional approach.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
