Job Title: SEN Support Worker
Location: Wimborne
Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Are you a compassionate, patient, and resilient individual passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Support Worker to join a supportive and inclusive school community in Wimborne with an immediate start.

As a SEN Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff to ensure every learner feels safe, valued, and supported to reach their full potential. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in SEN, care, or support work who are motivated to make a meaningful impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour, and learning engagement.
  • Assist in implementing EHCP targets, behaviour plans, and individual support strategies.
  • Help to create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • Promote pupils’ independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Follow care plans, safeguarding, and school policies at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to support.
