Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary: Up to £200 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: January 2026 – Easter

A supportive secondary school in Barnsley is looking for a confident and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join their team full-time from January until Easter. This is a brilliant role for someone who can deliver engaging lessons and support students across KS3 and KS4.

About the Role:
As a Science Teacher, you will plan and deliver lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, helping students build knowledge, curiosity, and confidence. You’ll maintain high expectations in the classroom and contribute positively to the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Teach across all three disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)

  • Plan lessons in line with curriculum and departmental frameworks

  • Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently

  • Assess, track, and report on student progress

  • Support students of varying abilities

  • Contribute to the wider Science department and school community

Requirements:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school

  • Strong subject knowledge across the three sciences

  • Confident classroom and behaviour management

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
