Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Dinnington (S25)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate Start/Jan 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for an experienced SEMH Teacher to join a specialist provision in Dinnington S25 area. This role is ideal for someone who can offer stability, build trust, and create learning opportunities for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver targeted lessons that help students develop both academically and emotionally. Your work will focus on building resilience, improving engagement, and supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning.

Prime Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver adapted lessons suitable for pupils with SEMH (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) needs.
  • Use de-escalation strategies and consistent routines to maintain a supportive environment.
  • Work closely with support staff and external professionals to provide a joined-up approach.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and confidence in learning.
  • Track student progress and provide clear, informative feedback.
  • Build strong relationships based on respect, patience, and understanding.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience working as an SEMH Teacher or supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, empathetic approach.
  • Ability to adapt lessons to meet a range of needs and abilities.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil well-being.
