Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S2 & S3)
Pay Rate: £140 – £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate Start / January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time
Are you a resilient, compassionate, and dedicated SEMH Teacher looking to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs in the S2 and S3 areas of Sheffield?
GSL Education are seeking committed SEMH Teachers to work in specialist and mainstream settings across Sheffield (S2 & S3). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact through trauma-informed and inclusive teaching.
As an SEMH Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Implement positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and external professionals.
- Track progress and adapt teaching to meet emotional and academic needs.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
Requirements for the role:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Experience working with SEMH pupils or in alternative provision is essential.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
