Job Title: Cover Supervisor (CS)
Location: Sheffield (S2 & S3)
Pay Rate: £95 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate Start / January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor looking to support pupils’ learning across classrooms in the S2 and S3 areas of Sheffield?

GSL Education are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work in welcoming schools across Sheffield (S2 & S3). This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on classroom experience while making a positive impact on students’ education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning.
  • Maintain positive behaviour and a focused classroom environment.
  • Support pupils with their understanding of lesson tasks.
  • Manage classroom resources and ensure pupils’ safety and wellbeing.
  • Follow school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and health & safety.

Requirements for the role:

  • Previous experience working with young people (school-based experience is desirable).
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A proactive, flexible, and professional attitude.
  • The ability to engage and motivate pupils effectively.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
