Job Title: Primary SEN Teacher
Location: Burley
Salary: £31,650 – £49,084 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time

Are you a compassionate and creative educator with a passion for supporting young learners with special educational needs? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to join a nurturing and supportive school environment in Burley.

As a Primary SEN Teacher, you will play a key role in providing tailored learning experiences for pupils with diverse needs, including autism, learning difficulties, communication challenges, and social-emotional needs. You will work closely with specialist staff and parents to ensure each child progresses both academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of primary-aged pupils with SEN.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-structured classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals.
  • Track pupil progress, set achievable goals, and support pupils in meeting EHCP targets.
  • Use creative and multi-sensory approaches to support learning and development.
  • Foster pupils’ confidence, communication skills, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Build strong relationships with families through regular communication and progress updates.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with primary-aged pupils with SEN.
  • Strong understanding of individualised teaching strategies and inclusive practice.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
