*Secondary Teaching Assistant€*
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £88-£100 per day

An excellent secondary school with ‘good’ behaviour in Newcastle is looking to appoint a creative teaching assistant to join their dynamic and forward thinking SEN department to work with pupils that have additional needs or English as a second language.
The headteacher would like to hear from candidates that have a real passion for supporting pupils and delivering excellent pastoral care. The school is a smaller than usual secondary setting with a great catchment area. You would be working within a team of staff that are supportive, friendly and welcoming.
The main duties of Secondary Teaching Assistant will include :
- Supporting the pupils in their lessons on a 1:1 basis
- Effective behaviour management
- Working with the class teachers to implement interventions
- Supporting and delivering creative and innovative lessons
- Using formative and summative assessment
- Report to the manager of the SEN depertment
- Promoting independence with life skills
- Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care
The ideal candidate of a Secondary Teaching Assistant wii:
- Be available for work Monday to Friday
- Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
- A fully checkable work history
