Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Weymouth
Salary: £31,650 – £49,084 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Are you a passionate, dedicated, and resilient SEN Teacher eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? GSL Education are seeking a committed SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school community in Weymouth from January 2026 on a permanent basis.

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored education to pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. You will work closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure every learner receives high-quality, personalised support to help them thrive both academically and emotionally. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners.

Responsibilities of SEN Teacher:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess inclusive and engaging lessons tailored to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external agencies to support pupil development.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN frameworks and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
