Full-Time Learning Support Assistant – Bournemouth, Dorset

Start Date: ASAP or January 2026

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming secondary school in Bournemouth. This full-time, term-time only role offers a fantastic opportunity to support students in a classroom setting and contribute to their academic and personal development. There may also be an element of supporting key students throughout the week, including those with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs).

Key Responsibilities of Learning Support Assistant (LSA):

  • Assist the teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Support students in small groups, helping them understand and complete tasks.
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage participation and learning.
  • Promote a supportive and inclusive environment for all learners.
  • Help track student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

  • Experience working with young people in an educational or support setting.
  • A genuine passion for helping students succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.
