GSL Education are looking for a committed and nurturing 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a well regarded primary school in Harlow, supporting a child with Special Educational Needs.

This position is to start in January 2026 on a long term, full time basis.

The Role

  • Provide individualised 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with SEN, helping them feel secure, understood and ready to learn

  • Adapt activities and resources to meet the child’s individual needs

  • Encourage emotional regulation, independence and confidence

  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider staff team

  • Support the child through both structured learning and play-based activities

  • Help create a warm, consistent and inclusive learning environment

  • Monitor progress and communicate effectively with staff and parents


About You

We would love to hear from you if you are:

  • Experienced supporting children with SEN (ASD experience highly desirable)

  • Calm, patient, and able to build a trusting relationship with one child

  • Passionate about helping young learners access education in a positive way

  • Reliable, dedicated and enthusiastic

  • Able to follow guidance but also use initiative when needed

  • Available full time from January for a long-term placement
