Pay rate: £89 - £95 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school near Tamworth, Staffordshire. This role is ideal for someone who has worked closely with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), and challenging behaviour.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, supporting their progress both academically and emotionally. We are looking for a patient, confident, and understanding individual who can use a calm and consistent approach in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and challenging behaviour.
- Assist in delivering structured learning activities that meet individual needs.
- Help maintain a positive, nurturing and well-managed classroom environment.
- Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, communication and social skills.
- Assist the class teacher with behaviour strategies and personalised learning plans.
- Encourage independence, resilience and confidence in pupils.
Requirements for an SEN Teaching Assistant::
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting children with additional needs.
- Experience with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and behaviour management is essential.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE/NVQ Level 2 or 3, or a background in Psychology, Education or a related field (desirable).
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and use positive behaviour techniques.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
- An enhanced DBS registered to the update service, or a willingness to apply through GSL Education.
