SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Maidstone
Contract: Full-time or Part-time
Salary: £88.94+ per day
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? We are currently recruiting a committed and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive specialist school in Maidstone.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils achieve their potential – academically, socially, and emotionally. You’ll support students with a range of needs including autism, SEMH, and communication difficulties, working closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored interventions and calm, structured routines.

Key responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant include:
• Providing 1:1 or small group support under teacher direction
• Supporting EHCP targets and personalised learning
• Assisting with communication, sensory, behavioural, or personal care needs
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and life skills
• Promoting a nurturing, inclusive learning environment
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• A resilient, calm, and caring nature
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Passion for helping pupils with additional needs succeed
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Drivers preferred
