SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Cranbrook, Kent
Salary: £88.94 – £95+ per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP (until Christmas, with potential extension)

GSL Education Kent are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEMH school that provides specialist education for pupils aged 11–19 with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities for SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to pupils’ emotional and behavioural needs
- Assist with behaviour regulation, engagement, and therapeutic approaches
- Support pupils’ learning across a range of subjects and activities
- Build trusting, positive relationships to encourage confidence and resilience
- Work collaboratively with teachers, mentors, and pastoral teams
- Foster a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to working with vulnerable learners
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Consistency, reliability, and a genuine commitment to pupil welfare
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
