Job Title: SEN School Care
Location: Wimborne
Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time
Are you a compassionate and patient individual passionate about supporting children with additional needs? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN School Care worker to join a welcoming school environment in Wimborne.
As an SEN School Care worker, you will help ensure pupils feel safe, supported, and able to participate fully in school life. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in personal care, SEN support, or working with children/young people who are committed to making a positive difference every day.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised care and support to pupils with SEN in line with individual care plans.
- Assist with mobility, feeding, hygiene, and other personal care tasks.
- Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and help them engage with learning activities.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment within the school.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet pupils’ needs.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social development among pupils.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in SEN support, personal care, or working with children/young people.
- Empathetic, calm, and committed to supporting vulnerable pupils.
- Ability to follow care plans, safeguarding procedures, and school guidelines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, CACHE Level 2/3) are desirable but not essential.
