Job Title: Classroom Nursing Assistant
Location: Dorchester
Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time
Are you a compassionate and attentive individual with a background in care or health support? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Classroom Nursing Assistant to join a warm, supportive school environment in Dorchester.
As a Classroom Nursing Assistant, you will help ensure students feel safe, cared for, and ready to learn by providing tailored support based on their individual care plans. This role is ideal for someone with experience in healthcare, SEN support, personal care, or similar settings who is passionate about helping children thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Provide medical and personal care support to pupils in line with individual healthcare plans.
- Assist students with mobility, feeding, hygiene, and medication routines.
- Monitor pupils’ wellbeing and promptly report any concerns to senior staff or healthcare professionals.
- Work alongside teachers to maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Encourage pupils’ independence, confidence, and participation in classroom activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and wider support teams to ensure consistent care.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in healthcare, personal care, SEN support, or working with children/young people.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Ability to follow medical, safeguarding, and behavioural guidelines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Relevant care qualifications (e.g., Care Certificate, NVQ Level 2/3, CACHE) are beneficial but not essential.
