Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)

As a School Health Care Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ medical, emotional, and physical needs throughout the school day. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in health care, personal care, SEN support, or similar settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored health and personal care support for students with medical or physical needs.
  • Assist pupils with mobility, medication routines, feeding, and personal hygiene, following care plans.
  • Monitor students’ wellbeing and report any concerns promptly to the appropriate staff.
  • Support teaching teams in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Encourage student independence, confidence, and participation in school activities.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and healthcare specialists to ensure consistent care and support.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in health care, personal care, support work, or working with children/young people.
  • Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable pupils.
  • Ability to follow medical care plans and safeguarding procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
