Job Title: School Care Worker

Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time
Are you a caring, patient, and reliable individual passionate about supporting children and young people in a school environment? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated School Care Worker to join a supportive educational setting in Bournemouth.
As a School Care Worker, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ personal care, emotional wellbeing, and daily routines. You will work closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and support professionals to ensure every student feels safe, valued, and able to access their learning comfortably. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in care, support work, or SEN who are looking to make a meaningful difference in a school community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care support to students as required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Support pupils with mobility, daily routines, and medical or physical needs.
- Assist teaching staff in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Promote students’ independence, confidence, and wellbeing.
- Use positive behaviour strategies to support students with emotional or behavioural needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support teams to provide consistent care.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in care, support work, or working with children/young people.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting children with additional needs.
- Ability to follow care plans and safeguarding procedures.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, supportive approach.
