Medical Lead/Student Welfare Officer
Location: Newham
Salary: £110 – £150 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long Term until Jan 2026

As a Medical Lead/Student Welfare Officer, you will play a key role in supporting students’ medical needs, promoting wellbeing, and ensuring that every pupil feels cared for and safe. The school is looking for someone reliable, compassionate, and committed to maintaining high standards of care. This is a long-term role offering stability and the chance to make a real difference.

We are looking for a Medical Lead/Student Welfare Officer who can bring energy, empathy, and professionalism to the school’s pastoral team. Responsibilities of the Medical Lead/Student Welfare Officer

  • Provide first aid and manage medical situations calmly and effectively
  • Oversee the medical room and maintain accurate health records
  • Support students with ongoing medical conditions and care plans
  • Liaise with parents, staff, and external agencies regarding student welfare
  • Promote a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for all pupils
  • Respond to welfare concerns and escalate issues when needed
  • Keep medical supplies stocked and ensure all equipment is up to date

Requirements for the Medical Lead/Student Welfare Officer

  • Experience in a similar medical or student welfare role
  • First aid training or willingness to undertake training
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Friendly, supportive, and professional approach
  • Ability to work well with students, staff, and families
  • Right to work in the UK
