Are you passionate about supporting young people and keeping learning on track in the classroom? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in Barnsley.

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour and ensure students stay focused and engaged throughout the lesson.
Responsibilities:

Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers.

Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects.

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.

Support students with questions and basic understanding of the work set.

Record attendance, behaviour and any issues during lessons.

Communicate effectively with teaching and pastoral staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Previous experience working with young people in an educational or youth setting is highly desirable.

Confident classroom presence and ability to manage behaviour effectively.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to think on your feet and adapt to different subjects and age groups.

A calm, professional and resilient approach.
