Are you a caring, patient and motivated Learning Support Assistant looking to make a real difference?

GSL Education is seeking a passionate 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a KS1 child with Autism in a warm, welcoming primary school in Harlow. This is a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP, perfect for someone who loves helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.

⭐ About the Role

As a 1:1 SEN LSA, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to a KS1 child with Autism, focusing on communication, engagement and emotional regulation.

  • Follow individual EHCP targets and work closely with the SENCO, class teacher and wider support team.

  • Use visual aids, structure, routine and positive reinforcement strategies to support learning.

  • Help create a calm, inclusive and predictable environment where the child feels safe and confident.

  • Assist with classroom tasks, small interventions and breaktime support when required.

  • Build a nurturing, trusting relationship to support independence and progress.

⭐ Ideal Candidate

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience supporting children with Autism, SEN or additional needs (school, nursery or care settings welcome!)

  • A patient, warm, understanding personality and a passion for helping children succeed

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a supportive team

  • A proactive, positive attitude and the confidence to use your initiative

  • Reliability, consistency and a genuine desire to make learning fun and achievable

Any training in ASD, Makaton, PECS, Team Teach or behaviour support is a bonus – but not essential!
