Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently recruiting a committed Behaviour Support Worker to join a supportive school in Christchurch. This role involves working closely with students who present with a range of behavioural and emotional needs, offering one-to-one support and implementing strategies to promote positive outcomes.


Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students to manage their behaviour and develop essential social and emotional skills. You will assist teaching staff in delivering an inclusive curriculum tailored to the individual needs of each learner.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for students with behavioural challenges.
  • Help implement personalised behaviour plans in line with the school’s ethos.
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, and support staff.
  • Assist in creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and support emotional regulation and well-being.
  • Support with de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies when necessary.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN or behavioural needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a patient, understanding nature.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with confidence.
  • Committed to promoting safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.

To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour Support Worker, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
