Salary Scale: £90 to £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing secondary school in the Rotherham area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs achieve their full potential.
About the Role:
You will work closely with students who require additional support with emotional regulation, engagement, and behaviour. You will assist in maintaining a calm and structured learning environment and help pupils develop positive coping strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learning Support: Provide focused assistance to students with SEMH needs, helping them access the curriculum successfully.
- Student Engagement: Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage participation and emotional growth.
- Individual Support: Offer one-to-one or small group interventions tailored to specific needs.
- Classroom Organisation: Support teachers in creating a safe, inclusive, and structured environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside pastoral teams, SEN staff, and external professionals.
To succeed as an SEMH TA, you will need:
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH or behaviour-related needs.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A nurturing, child-centred approach.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
