Salary Scale: £90 to £100 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a friendly secondary school located in the Sheffield area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting young people and helping them thrive academically and personally.

About the Role:
You will work alongside classroom teachers to support pupils’ learning, provide guidance with classwork, and help maintain a focused and inclusive learning atmosphere. You will assist with lesson preparation, deliver small-group support, and contribute to the overall running of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learning Support: Assist students with class activities, helping to reinforce understanding of lesson content.
  • Student Engagement: Encourage participation, confidence, and positive behaviour in the classroom.
  • Individual Support: Provide targeted assistance to pupils who may require additional guidance.
  • Classroom Organisation: Support teachers with resources, preparation, and general classroom routines.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure continuity and effective support across the school.

To succeed as a Teaching Assistant, you will need:

  • Experience working with young people or in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and supportive approach to learning.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
