Job Title: Disability Support Worker

Location: Dorchester

Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a committed Disability Support Worker to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Dorchester. This role is ideal for someone with experience in disability support, care settings, SEN environments, or for individuals looking to begin a rewarding career within education.

Key Responsibilities of Disability Support Worker:

  • Provide individualised support to pupils with a range of disabilities.
  • Assist with mobility, personal care, communication, and independence skills.
  • Support engagement in classroom activities and school routines.
  • Follow personalised support plans and work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals.
  • Encourage confidence, participation, and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate progress with staff and families.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar care/SEN role.
  • A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care if required.
  • Understanding of disability support, inclusive practice, and safeguarding.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
