Job Title: Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

Rate: £88.94 – £104.84 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Selby is seeking a confident and dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (TA) to work across KS2, providing targeted support to pupils with behavioural needs. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners’ lives.
As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils manage behavioural difficulties and engage positively in their learning. Working closely with teachers and the wider school team, you’ll foster a structured and supportive environment that promotes growth and success.
Key Responsibilities of Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant
- Provide tailored behavioural support to pupils across KS2.
- Implement consistent behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and parents to support pupil progress.
- Assist in developing and following individual behaviour plans.
- Use proactive techniques to de-escalate challenging situations.
- Monitor and report on behavioural progress and incidents.
What We’re Looking in Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant
- Previous experience supporting children with behavioural needs is essential.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and constructive in challenging situations.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- Additional training in behaviour management or SEN is desirable but not required.
