A welcoming and supportive primary school in Brentwood is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis, working with pupils who have Special Educational Needs.
About the Role
In this role, you’ll be providing tailored support to pupils who need a little extra help with their learning, confidence, and day-to-day routines. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure pupils feel supported, understood, and able to achieve their best.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build meaningful connections with children and become a valued part of a caring school community.
Your Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with a variety of SEN needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, learning delays)

Providing one-to-one and small group support inside and outside the classroom

Helping adapt learning activities to suit individual needs

Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and confidence

Working alongside teaching staff, the SENCO, and parents to track progress

Creating a calm, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
What We’re Looking For:

Experience supporting children with SEN (school-based or similar setting)

A patient, calm, and adaptable approach to learning support

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A genuine desire to help children achieve their full potential

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

CACHE Level 2/3 or similar qualification is helpful, but not essential
