Food Technology Teacher
Location: Canterbury, Kent
Salary: £120 - £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start date: Immediately
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Do you have the ability to deliver engaging lessons that develop students' food preparation skills and nutritional understanding?
If so, then we at GSL Education Kent would love to hear from you. We have an urgent opportunity for a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a large, all-through academy located in Canterbury. The selected Food Technology Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop practical life skills and a thorough understanding of food science and nutrition.
The school is a progressive and inclusive academy, recently rated 'Good' by Ofsted, which commended its "positive learning environment" and "commitment to student development." As one of the largest educational establishments in the region, it offers extensive facilities and diverse opportunities for both students and staff. The successful Food Technology Teacher will become part of a dynamic Design & Technology department dedicated to providing exceptional practical education in modern, well-equipped food technology facilities.
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will be expected to:
- Plan and deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Teach essential food preparation techniques, nutrition principles, and food safety standards.
- Develop students' knowledge of food science, healthy eating, and food sourcing.
- Maintain kitchen facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and hygienic learning environment.
- Prepare students for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition assessments.
In order to be considered for this Food Technology Teacher role, the candidate must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant specialism.
- Have experience teaching Food Technology at secondary school level.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
