A specialist secondary setting in Hackney is seeking a committed KS4 / KS5 Autism Teaching Assistant to support students with Autism as they prepare for their next steps into adulthood, further study, and vocational pathways. As a KS4 / KS5 Autism Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in delivering structured, tailored support to learners who thrive with consistency, clear routines, and patient guidance.
What You Will Be Doing as a KS4 / KS5 Autism Teaching Assistant

Providing specialist 1:1 and small-group support for students with Autism in KS4 and KS5

Assisting teachers in adapting coursework, assignments, and classroom materials

Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction, and self-regulation

Helping prepare students for exams, transitions, and post-16 pathways

Encouraging independence, resilience, and confidence in daily routines

Creating a calm and structured atmosphere where Autism-friendly strategies can be implemented
Your work as a KS4 / KS5 Autism Teaching Assistant will directly contribute to academic progress and personal development.
What We’re Looking For

Experience supporting pupils with Autism (school or alternative setting)

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Patience, adaptability, and an understanding of Autism support methods

Reliability and a positive attitude

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
