Role: Head of DT
Location: Braintree
Pay Rate: £140 – £240 per day
Start Date: As soon as possible
A thriving secondary school in Braintree is searching for an experienced Head of DT to lead its Design & Technology department. As the Head of DT, you will oversee curriculum planning, departmental organisation, and the development of high-quality teaching.
Key Responsibilities as Head of DT:
• Lead the DT department, including curriculum planning and staff oversight
• Teach DT specialisms to KS3–KS4
• Oversee assessment, progress data, and exam preparation
• Maintain high standards of health and safety in practical spaces
• Drive enrichment, design projects, and extra-curricular opportunities
Essential Requirements:
• Experienced Head of DT or aspiring middle leader
• Strong knowledge across DT specialisms
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
