Salary: £88.92 – £95 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role
The role centres on supporting pupils with SEMH needs who may face challenges with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement in learning. You will help pupils build confidence, develop coping strategies, and access the curriculum in a meaningful way. Your role will have a direct impact on improving daily routines, learning outcomes, and overall wellbeing for the young people you support.
Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs.

Assist in maintaining a structured learning environment that promotes safety and calm.

Support positive behaviour strategies and help pupils manage emotional or behavioural difficulties.

Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral leads to ensure consistent support.

Help pupils develop social skills, resilience, and emotional regulation.

Adapt activities and guidance to meet individual needs.

Provide personal care support if required.

Maintain clear communication with staff and adhere to safeguarding and behaviour procedures.
Qualifications

Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs.

Understanding of trauma-informed approaches, emotional regulation, and restorative support.

Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations.

Strong communication skills and willingness to work closely within a team.

A relevant qualification (e.g., TA, SEN, or safeguarding training) is beneficial but not essential.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for vulnerable pupils.
