Job Title: SEMH Class Teacher
Location: Brighton
Salary: £160 – £220 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled SEMH Class Teacher to lead a class and deliver targeted support and teaching for pupils with SEMH needs. You will work collaboratively with the SENCO and support staff to create structured, engaging, and therapeutic learning experiences, helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and academic progress.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with SEMH.

  • Implement behaviour management strategies to create a positive learning environment.

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCO, and other professionals to support pupils’ emotional and academic development.

  • Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching methods where necessary.

  • Support pupils’ personal care and wellbeing as required.

  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and staff regarding pupil progress.

  • Contribute to whole-school initiatives and SEMH strategies.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher with experience in primary or SEMH education.

  • Understanding of differentiation, SEMH strategies, and inclusive classroom practice.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a child-focused approach.

  • Experience in personal care and behaviour support is advantageous.
