About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Behaviour Mentor to provide targeted support for pupils facing emotional, behavioural, or social challenges. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and SEN teams to help pupils manage behaviour, build resilience, and fully engage in learning. Your role will have a direct impact on improving both pupil wellbeing and classroom engagement.
Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.

Implement and reinforce behaviour management strategies in line with school policy.

Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, social skills, and resilience.

Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff to ensure consistent support.

Adapt activities and interventions to meet individual pupil needs.

Support pupils in maintaining routines and engagement throughout the school day.

Provide personal care support if required.

Maintain clear records of interventions and progress, reporting updates to relevant staff.
Qualifications

Experience working with pupils with SEMH or behavioural challenges.

Knowledge of behaviour management, restorative approaches, and trauma-informed practice.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with pupils, staff, and parents.

Ability to remain patient, consistent, and supportive in challenging situations.

Relevant qualifications in SEN, pastoral care, or education support are desirable but not essential.
