Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Dinnington
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in the Dinnington. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in pupils’ learning, emotional well-being, and confidence through tailored support and guidance.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs in both academic and social-emotional learning.
  • Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning plans and differentiated activities.
  • Promote pupils’ emotional resilience, confidence, and positive behaviour in the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure pupils’ holistic development.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

Requirements for the role of SEMH TA:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or similar additional needs (school or care setting).
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility and resilience to adapt to the changing needs of pupils throughout the school day.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
