Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield, S5
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated PMLD TA to join a caring and inclusive special educational needs school in the S5 area of Sheffield. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with complex needs by providing tailored support and encouragement in their learning and development.
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with complex learning, physical, and sensory needs in a nurturing environment.
- Assist in delivering individualised education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Foster pupils’ independence, communication, and social interaction through engaging and structured activities.
- Provide personal care and mobility support where required, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom atmosphere.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to promote holistic learning experiences.
Requirements for the role:
- Experience supporting children or young people with PMLD, SLD, or complex needs (school or care setting).
- A nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and resilience to adapt to changing needs throughout the school day.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
