Location: Newham
Salary: £185 - £265 per day
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Long Term

GSL Education London Branch are delighted to be looking for a passionate and talented English Teacher to join a welcoming co-educational secondary school in Newham. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated English Teacher who is ready to inspire students and make a real difference in their learning journey.

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons that spark a love for literature and language. The ideal English Teacher will have strong classroom management skills, a passion for education, and the ability to motivate students of all abilities.

English Teacher Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in English.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Assess, track and record students’ progress, providing feedback for improvement.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan schemes of work and share best practices.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, school events and extracurricular activities.

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

English Teacher Requirements

  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Have proven experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.

  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • A passion for teaching and inspiring young learners.

  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
