Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term until Summer 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
GSL Education Manchester is currently recruiting a talented Year 2 Class Teacher for a supportive and well-resourced primary school in Tameside. This is a long-term, full-time post beginning in January 2026 and running through to the end of the academic year.
About the Role:
You will take full class responsibility for a Year 2 group, delivering the KS1 curriculum and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all core subjects. You will work closely with senior leaders and the KS1 phase team to ensure pupils make excellent academic and personal progress.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum

Use a range of assessment tools to monitor and report on pupil progress

Differentiate learning to support a range of abilities within the classroom

Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues

Contribute to the wider school life and uphold the school's inclusive ethos
What We’re Looking For:

A qualified teacher (QTS) with KS1 Experience

Strong knowledge of phonics, formative assessment, and early literacy strategies
-
Confident behaviour management and ability to establish a purposeful classroom climate

Organised, reflective, and passionate about pupil progress
