Salary Range: £140- £190 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join schools across Barnsley. You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality Geography curriculum, helping students develop a strong understanding of physical, human, and environmental geography. This role is ideal for teachers who are dedicated to creating dynamic, engaging, and relevant learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver well-structured and inspiring Geography lessons to KS3–KS5 students (year groups may vary).
- Plan and adapt lessons to suit different learning needs, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
- Assess student work, monitor progress, and provide meaningful feedback.
- Enhance pupils’ geographical knowledge through fieldwork, case studies, and real-world examples.
- Promote environmental awareness, cultural understanding, and global citizenship.
- Maintain effective behaviour and classroom routines that support positive learning.
- Contribute to departmental development and work collaboratively with colleagues.
Job Requirements: To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Strong subject knowledge in Geography with recent teaching experience (placements considered).
- Ability to design engaging lessons that link theory to real-world context.
- Effective behaviour management skills and a positive classroom presence.
- Strong communication, organisation, and planning abilities.
- A growth mindset with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
- An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one through GSL Education.
