GSL Education is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join schools across Barnsley. You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality Geography curriculum, helping students develop a strong understanding of physical, human, and environmental geography. This role is ideal for teachers who are dedicated to creating dynamic, engaging, and relevant learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver well-structured and inspiring Geography lessons to KS3–KS5 students (year groups may vary).
  • Plan and adapt lessons to suit different learning needs, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Assess student work, monitor progress, and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Enhance pupils’ geographical knowledge through fieldwork, case studies, and real-world examples.
  • Promote environmental awareness, cultural understanding, and global citizenship.
  • Maintain effective behaviour and classroom routines that support positive learning.
  • Contribute to departmental development and work collaboratively with colleagues.

Job Requirements: To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography with recent teaching experience (placements considered).
  • Ability to design engaging lessons that link theory to real-world context.
  • Effective behaviour management skills and a positive classroom presence.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and planning abilities.
  • A growth mindset with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one through GSL Education.
