Job Title: English Teacher

Pay Rate: £140– £190 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons that nurture students’ reading, writing, and analytical skills. This role is suitable for teachers seeking flexible supply work or long-term roles within a supportive educational environment.
Responsibilities as an English Teacher:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons to KS3–KS5 pupils (age groups may vary depending on placement).
- Plan and adapt lessons to meet a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student work, track progress, and support individual learning targets.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and orderly classroom environment.
- Encourage students to develop strong literacy, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to enhance learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records in line with school policies and assessment frameworks..
English Teacher Candidate Requirements: The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Previous experience teaching English is essential (placements or supply accepted).
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum.
- Effective classroom management and behaviour strategies.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive, flexible, and resilient approach to teaching.
- An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through GSL Education.
