About the Role
We are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to provide targeted support to pupils with additional learning and emotional needs. This is a rewarding role where you will make a meaningful impact on pupils’ educational experience and development. You will work closely with class teachers and the SEN team to deliver interventions, support learning, and help create an inclusive classroom environment where all children can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN, adapting learning to meet individual needs.

  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, ensuring pupils can access the curriculum.

  • Support behaviour management and help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, colleagues, and parents to monitor progress and implement strategies to support pupil development.

  • Assist with personal care for pupils where required, ensuring dignity and safety.

  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, achievements, and observations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Support role, ideally in primary education.

  • Knowledge of SEN strategies, differentiation, and learning support techniques.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with pupils, colleagues, and parents.

  • Ability to adapt activities to meet the needs of individual learners.

  • Understanding of inclusion and safeguarding practices within a school environment.
